The President, the Pope, And the Prime Minister…

I recently watched Meryl Streep’s film “The Iron Lady” — wasn’t aware she had one the Oscar for her portrayal of Maggie Thatcher but I can see why she did…

– and I was glad I had this book on my shelf to re-read…

“The President, the Pope, and the Prime Minister” is a sweeping, dramatic account of how three great figures changed the course of history, as told by John O’Sullivan, former editor of “National Review” and the “Times of London”, who knew all three and has conducted exclusive interviews that shed extraordinary new light on these giants of the twentieth century.

I recommend both the book and the movie for an interesting perspective on conservatism and character in the 80′s, and no, that’s not an oxymoron…
